'South Park' On 'The Killing Joke,' Volcano Delays, And 'Avatar' On DVD In Today's Twitter Report

Avatar - TwitterEyjafjallajokull is still wreaking havoc from the look of Australia-based colorist Dylan McCrae's tweets, which indicate that the volcano disrupted comics deliveries for him this week. The Twitter Report feed was just full of depressing news today, as it also appears that Sterling Gates and Christian Beranek caught a new "South Park" episode lampooning Alan Moore's Batman story "The Killing Joke" — it's sad because I missed it.

Bryan Hitch had something to celebrate today, however, and the T-Report joins Twitter newcomer Mark Millar in wishing him a happy birthday. Find it all after the jump along with Bryan Lee O'Malley's thoughts on the PG-13 rating for "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World" and Ron Marz on Archie Comics' first openly gay character.

It's all in the Twitter Report for April 22, 2010.

@dylanmccrae You may foiled my attempt to get new comics Eyjafjallajökull! But you can't stop me having Chinese for dinner. Blow that out your eruption!
-Dylan McCrae, Colorist ("Scott Pilgrim's Finest Hour," "Strange Tales")

"South Park" pt. 1: @sterlinggates South Park is referencing "The Killing Joke" right now. AWESOME.
-Sterling Gates, Writer ("Green Lantern Corps," "Supergirl")

"South Park" pt. 2: @beranek Holy crap. South Park just paid homage to The Killing Joke. So random and so awesome.
-Christian Beranek, Writer ("Dracula vs. King Arthur," "Starship Troopers")

@radiomaru Scott Pilgrim movie is rated pg-13, no surprise to anyone who's read the books. They lack swearing, brutality, and titties
-Bryan Lee O'Malley, Writer/Aritst ("Scott Pilgrim vs. The World," "Lost at Sea")

Bryan Hitch pt. 1: @THEHITCHFACTORY I woke up a decade older this morning. Goodby thirties! You didnt last long!
-Bryan Hitch, Artist ("The Ultimates," "Captain America: Reborn")

Bryan Hitch pt. 2: @mrmarkmillar @thehitchfactory hit 40 today. 4 years older than Batman, 9 years older than Superman and 13 years older than new Dr Who. Happy Bday, bro!
-Mark Millar, Writer ("Kick-Ass," "Wanted")

@McKelvie I wonder how many people who were blown away by Avatar in 3D bought it on DVD and discovered it is in fact not that good.
-Jamie McKelvie, Artist ("Suburban Glamour," "Phonogram")

@ronmarz Hope Glenn Beck exposes Riverdale's new gay character as more evidence of the socialist agenda. Or maybe he'll just blubber like a 4-yr-old.
-Ron Marz, Writer ("Green Lantern," "Witchblade")

Wisdom from the Pros:

@philhester Telling the truth about our respective rates, sales, & royalties is the most important thing freelancers can do for each other.
-Phil Hester, Writer/Artist ("Green Arrow," "The Irredeemable Ant-Man")
